I managed to get around the cloud font issue when converting a Docx file to PDF, but now I'm having trouble with SmartArts, which aren't rendering very wel, the images are distorted.
I'm using LibreOffice as the engine. I can't use and don't want Word on server.
Is there an alternative solution?

We recommend using the latest version of LibreOffice (https://www.libreoffice.org/). Newer releases improve DOCX support, including SmartArt content.
If the SmartArt in your DOCX is not supported by the latest version of LibreOffice (and you need to include SmartArt content rather than using regular images), the recommended solution is to use the MS Word conversion plugin to convert it.
