We encourage you to download the current phpdocx version and check the Documentation available.

We recommend you to read the upgrading guide available on:

http://www.phpdocx.com/files/miscellaneous/from-phpdocx-v3.7-to-v5.pdf

For example instead of addTemplateVariable you need to use replaceVariableByText.
